Local 103, IBEW, is proud to offer the following scholarships: MASSACHUSETTS AFL-CIO
- Eight (8) $5,000 Scholarships ~ Four Scholarships are awarded to four daughters and four are awarded to four sons of Local 103 members (increased from four scholarships in 2009).
- Apply with the proper authorities (Exam Proctor) at his/her school. It is the student’s responsibility to notify the proper authority at their High Schools of their interest in taking the Massachusetts, AFL-CIO, Scholarship Examination by December 16, 2009. Study guides may be downloaded at www.massaflcio.org.
- Complete the enclosed application and return to MA AFL-CIO, 389 Main Street, Suit 101, Malden, MA 02148, or fax to 781-324-8225, Attention: Meghann Connolly. The exam will be administered at the student’s high school on February 3, 2010. Please be sure to notify your guidance department at your high school of your interest in taking the exam. If you have any questions, please contact Meghann Connolly, 781-324-8230.
- PLEASE NOTE: Students who live out-of-state must come from a union affiliation and get permission from their high school guidance department to participate. The school should then contact Meghann Connolly to arrange for the exam to be sent.
UNION PLUS SCHOLARSHIP
- The scholarship program is open to students (members, spouses and their dependent children) attending or planning to attend a college or university, a community college, or a technical college or trade school. (Graduate Students are not eligible).
- Applicants for scholarships are evaluated according to academic ability, social awareness, financial need and appreciation of labor.
- The amount of the award ranges from $500-$4,000. This is a one-time cash award sent to individual winners for undergraduate study beginning in the fall of the same year.

IBEW FOUNDERS’ SCHOLARSHIP
- The IBEW Founders’ Scholarship is for IBEW Members only, not for the spouses or children, who have been in continuous good standing for the four years preceding May 1 of the scholarship year. Please visit www.ibew.org/articles/scholarshipad.pdf for more information.
CURRY COLLEGE – MILTON, MA
- Ten (10) Continuing Education Scholarships per year ($810 each – Undergraduate Courses)
- Members, Spouses and Dependent Children are eligible
- One (1) $20,000 Scholarship – Awarded to an incoming Freshman; full-time student; ($5,000 per year)

SAT TUTORING
- Local 103, IBEW, will again be offering the SAT Tutoring Classes for Juniors and Seniors beginning in January, 2010. Space is limited in the program and reservations will be accepted on a first-come/first-served basis. Information regarding the classes and the schedules will be forwarded to the membership at a later date and will be posted on the website, www.ibew103.com.
